Feels Like Home Support Services is a family-owned innovative NDIS registered provider offering services to people with physical, intellectual, and psychosocial disabilities. Our aim is to ensure our clients receive professional services from our dedicated support staff.

We are currently for energetic and passionate support workers who are experienced in looking after children, teenagers, and adults with varying disabilities and keen to make a difference in their lives.

Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a number of dedicated support workers who wish to make a difference in the everyday lives of NDIS participants with challenging behaviours.

We are looking for support workers to cover the following areas:

Mansfield – x 4 support workers (Mon-Fri, Every Sat and Sat & Sun once a month, on rotation) – ASD3 Non-Verbal

Must be fit, able to run and clear and precise communication skills.
Experience with challenging behaviours (including aggression) and restrictive practises.
Experience in Medication administration.
MAYBO Training Essential
Experience in writing clear, precise, and detailed documentation including Behaviour ABC Chart; Restrictive Practise documentation.

Logan & Surrounds – x 2 FEMALE WORKERS ONLY (Mon-Sun) – Mental Health

Must be fit, able to run and clear and precise communication skills.
Experience with mental health and drug addiction.
Experience in Medication administration.
Cert IV in Mental Health advantageous
Experience in writing clear, precise, and detailed documentation.
Experience in mental health and incident reporting.

Stafford Heights - 4 x Support Workers

(Available shifts: Morning, Afternoons, Evenings, Nights, Weekends and Sleepovers) Community Support and SIL/In Home Support – Intellectual Disability

MAYBO Training Essential
Clear English-speaking skills
Must be able to prepare meals.
Must be social and willing to engage.
Experience in Medication administration.
Ideal interests: Bowling; Going to Park; Attending events (i.e. concerts, NYE Fireworks, Sports etc); Crafts; Movies; Playing sports, and outdoor activities (i.e. Hiking, Biking etc).
Organising and planning social events
Experience in writing clear, precise, and detailed documentation.

The Position

You will be working in a supportive environment with staff who are focused on ensuring our clients receive professional care and support to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. Training and support will be provided to assist you in becoming a quality support worker.

You will be working independently. The days and hours will be consistent, and the positions are casual to permanent for the right applicants.

General Duties

As directed by the Clinical Director and in line with the client’s NDIS goals, duties may include the following:

Assist in the social engagement of young children, teens, and adults.
Organising community access events
Managing challenging behaviours and implementing BSPs and PBSPs
Personal Care
Community Access / Appointments
Write and submit required documentation including but not limited to A-B-C Challenging Behaviours, shift progress notes, medication charts etc.
Other duties as required.
Any specific training will be provided.

About You

Friendly and patient with the ability to empathise with people with disabilities and have experience in working with young children, teenagers and adults with Challenging Behaviours and Mental Health.

Willing to learn and be committed to continuous personal development.

Professional attitude and willingness to engage with all levels within the Feels Like Home community.

Skills and Competencies

Excellent writing, comprehension, and verbal skills.
Sound mathematical skills.
Proficient computer skills, with easy access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Ability to follow instructions and work within the limitations of the position.
Ability to work independently.

Requirements

MAYBO Cert
Cert IV Mental Health
Cert IV in Disability
Must be fit and able to run.
Current First Aid and CPR
Current Qld driver's licence
Reliable vehicle, with full insurance and be road worthy – must be willing to transport participant in own vehicle as required.
You will be required to hold a current blue card and yellow card (or NDIS Worker Screening) prior to commencement of employment.
ALL NDIS Training Modules must be completed prior to commencement of employment.
Certificate in Medication Administration
Manual Handling Training Preferred
